Livonia Rotarians went back to school to celebrate National Reading Awareness Month!
During the month of March, eighteen Rotarians visited Grant Elementary in Livonia and read to the children. Each child also recieved a copy of the book, and each classroom received a book for their library and a poster of the Rotary Four Way Test. The children were all very excited to have visitor readers and to receive their gifts, and the readers had fun as well.

I would like to thank the following readers: Will Lindley, Dick Vandenbrul,Dave Stecholz, Austin Keathley, Hassan Mourgrabi, Bob Moore, Bob Bennett, Ian Smart, Kit Tennyson, Giovanni Optimitti, Barbara Trapp, Laura Perlowski, Kevin Hewett,Dave Cash, Mary Margeret Eckhardt, Mike Gendrich, William Fried, and Bob Hardies. I would also like to thank my co-chairperson Barb Lewis, Tod Jaggi for printing the rotary labels, and all the rotarians who helped place rotary labels on the books.

We received a matching grant from Rotary District 6400 of $1,000.

This was our 12th year doing this program and I actually had more volunteers than I needed!! What a wonderful problem to have. I look forward to year 13!
