Rick talked about the work that he and his Rotarian daughter, Julie have been involved with in Tanzania.  The partnership of Rotary, The Canadian World Education Foundation (Tanzania Chapter), and SASCO has given the opportunity to complete projects related to education, business development, water and sanitation and agriculture.
SASCO is a non-governmental organization in Tanzania, created so that we could work together.  Today, Rick focussed on education and talked about the many students for whom they have arranged education sponsors.  In particular, he talked about Lecton Morris, a young Massai man that is now in his third year of medical school.  Rick thanked our Rotary Club for its very important contribution to Lecton’s education made a few years ago, after Rick’s previous presentation to our club.  Lecton has been elected the student leader at his university, and has already started giving back to the community.
